October Elegy (poem)

fall-2012-dead-brown-leaves

October Elegy

October enters surreptitiously

Calmly separates leaf from scion

Trees relinquish clasp— and foliage

Obeys the call—  scatters asunder

Browned, crunchy, dispersed—

Elegy upon the grass

Rest in peace.
